Stidd's life in the private sector lasted for only 1.5 years. He petitioned Star Fleet Command and was reinstated
with his former rank of Commander and sent to the USS Sharikahr as the Chief Engineering Officer. This was not that
bad of an assignment as it reunited him with long time friend Eli Irvin who is Captain of the Shari as she is called by her
crew. This reunion was something of a surprise to Eli as Stidd arrived ahead of his orders due to a clerical snafu at
the regional Star Base for the sector that the Shari was assigned to. It is a given that Eli had no objections to Stidd
being assigned and some say that he actually welcomed it. Their friendship will endure much during the years ahead.
Stidd is ordered to serve on the Don Johnson
On Stardate 10704.16, Stidd was called upon to transfer to the Don Johnson and serve under a Capt. T'Ponga Shamara Arca, a
half Vulcan and half Klingon hybrid with interesting problems all her own. Stidd was promoted at this time to the level of
Executive Officer(XO) and made her Number one to take the place of her husband who had mysteriously left the ship for another
assignment. The news of this shook T'Ponga's mind and confidence but Stidd was more than ready to step up and do what the
job demanded of him.
